Senses
The black bear has a very keen sense of smell and hearing, this makes up for their very poor eyesight .  Black bears are nearsighted and colorblind , so to know if danger is lurking around they stand upright with their snout in the air and start sniffing around . This method is also used to find food.
Getting Around

Bears, like us put their whole foot on the ground, so when they walk they move very wobbly although when they're in a rush they can go 35 miles per hour , now that's FAST !!!!! Bears also dog paddle in the water when they come out from the water they shake their fur like a shaggy dog .

Home Ground

Black bears mark their territory by scratching the trees around so when bears see the marks they know, "don't go there."  Also bears can see how big the bear is by its marks. The higher the marks the bigger the bear.

Food

Black bears eat about anything. You and I both know about the cartoon bears that always eat honey well that's true but the bees really aren't that big of a pest in fact bears like eating bees, WEIRD !!! They also like eating ants, grasshoppers, wasps, just about anything. But they do not hunt, they only look for easy prey.
