Tree Snail

The tree snail has 50 different color combinations.The colid shell is about 18 cm long The tree snail eats  lichen  which is two kinds of plants fungus and algae.The tree snail lays it's eggs on  a tree branch. The tree snail feeds it babies ,but then leaves them.Before it has its babies, it will estivate.The tree snail lives near fresh water  on trees of the hardwood hammock.During the dry season the snails protect themselves by  forming  a cover of mucus and lime across the opening of their shell .In  The everglades national park tree snails are protected by law.
