    The desert gets less than 25cm. (10 inches) of rain each year. the average rainfall is 15cm. ( 6 inches). Many people think the desert is hot but at night the temperature can drop to 17 degrees Celcius. In the southwest united states the deserts are called cool deserts. These deserts are hot in the summer but are cold in the winter.The temperature can drop to 0 degrees Celcius (32 degrees Fahrenheit). It may even snow there sometimes.
