The Taiga Project
Taiga Description
The Taiga is a biome that is very cold
and has long winters with lots of snow, while the summers are very warm.
The Taiga is located in Canada and Northern Eurasia. The main type of tree
in the Taiga is the Evergreen Trees. The Taiga is the largest biome in
the world. Thousands of bird species migrate to the Taiga in the summer.
When the snow melts in the Taiga, insects use the abundant water for breeding.
Taiga Climate
The Climate in the Taiga biome can
get up to 90 degrees Celsius in the summer, but it can also get to -90
degrees Celsius during the Winter. The Taiga can have severe winters for
up to 6 months straight. The taiga has approximately 15-20 inches
of precipitation a year, but the low precipitation rates make a humid climate.
