Hurricanes
Did you know that hurricanes are the most deadly weather sources around?

Hurricanes develop from easterly waves in long narrow regions of low pressure from trade winds. Hurricanes are formed by ocean water, the heat of the sun, air, wind, and the spin of the earth.

Hurricanes have two main parts. The winds swirl around the eye of the hurricane. Winds spin straight and because of the earth's rotation the winds start spinning around. The center of the hurricane is calm but around it are rain clouds, massive rain clouds. The winds don't blow in the middle of the hurricane because the same pressure that pushes them in, pushes them out.

Hurricanes are very large, swirling storms with very low pressure at it's center. They form over tropical oceans near the equator. Hurricanes, typhoons, and cyclones are basicly the same. Air masses near the equator tend to be very much alike. Hurricanes don't form fronts. Hurricanes can be several hundred miles long in diameter.

Most hurricanes cause widespread death, and destruction. As moist air in the storm rises and cools, condensation takes place. The clouds thicken. Hurricanes can easily grow more than 400 miles in diameter. A hurricane watch means a hurricane can hit in the next 36 hours.

Hurricanes are tropical cyclones formed over the North Atlantic Ocean. In most years, six to eight hurricanes will develop over the Atlantic Ocean. They can last as long as six days. Well, that's the end of my report of hurricanes.
