Did you know if lightning could reach the moon it would take 2 seconds ? Do you know how lightning  happens? Lightning happens inside cumulonimbus clouds. Fast moving currents of air rise and fall tossing the droplets of water and ice crystals violently. This furious movement causes an electric charge to build in side the clouds. This charge builds up and gets realeased in the form of lightning.
