Wind vanes tell meteorologists what direction the wind is blowing; North, South, East or West. Anemometers tell people how quick the wind is blowing. Meteorologists use such instruments as thermometers, barometers and hygrometers and weather balloons to measure basic aspects of the weather.
Weather satellites also called meteorological satellites, take pictures from great altitudes.
