RAIN
DID YOU KNOW THAT IT REALLY RAINED FROG ONCE?
DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT RAIN IS?
DO YOU  WANT TO KNOW WHAT IT IS TO LIVE WITH RAIN? WELL, READ ON AND YOU WILL KNOW.

WHAT IS RAIN? RAIN IS MILLIONS OF VERY LITTLE WATER DROPLETS WHICH MAKES A RAIN CLOUD. BIG RAINDROPS BUMP INTO  SMALL RAIN DROPS. THE RAIN DROP TOGETHER MAKE EVEN BIGGER RAIN DROPS. WHEN THE RAIN DROPS ARE BIG AND HEAVY ENOUGH, THEY FALL ONTO THE EARTH.
AROUND AND AROUND:
Air goes up when it is warmed, or in order to go over hills and mountains,
water vapor is taken by  the air from the land and sea, up into the sky. Higher, the air is much colder.
This very cold air makes the water vapor condense, forming small raindrops. These rain drops form the clouds in the sky. Rain drops fall  out of the clouds and back down to  the earth and so the water cycle goes around and around.
        AROUND THE WORLD
Rain doesn't fall  evenly over the earth. Deserts are the world driest places. In some deserts, it does not rain for many many years. The wettest place on the earth is called Mount Waialeale, in Hawaii. It rain's nearly every day. Tropical rain forests have regular rain storms, but the rain forest have lots of sunshine as well, so the air is always warm and steamy.

Animal and Plants Need Rain
Plants: Plants need rain because the roots suck the water  and into the leaves. Water also evaporates from leaves of plants into the air.  The bigger the leaves, the more water is lost by evaporation.
Animals: Animals also need water to live. Wild animal find many places to drink water like puddles, streams or ponds.  Many animals like fish and water insects live in the water. If there was no rain at all streams and ponds may dry up, and many animals would die.
Living With Rain
We all live with water. Without water, we would not have food or something to drink. Some people have to live with too much rain. A heavy storm or day with hard rain may cause a flood. River and lakes may over flow and flood the country side, the streets, and cover houses and cars. In countries where heavy rain falls, houses are made on stilts.

RAIN ON THE GROUND
WHEN RAIN FALLS OUT OF THE SKY, IT GETS WATER OUT OF OCEANS, STREAMS, LAKES AND PUDDLES. IN SOME TOWNS IT DISAPPEARS INTO DRAINS AND INTO UNDERGROUND PIPES. RAINWATER RUNS DOWN  HILLS AND MAY FORM A STREAM AND SOME OF THAT WATER MAY GO UNDERGROUND. THE FASTER IT RAINS THE FASTER THE STREAM AND RIVERS FLOW.
