Hi! This is Daniel's & Jordan's webpage. In case you are wondering, this page is about weather and what it's like during the seasons.
Winter is the coldest season of them all. As the earth
rotates, the northern hemisphere has winter in Dec.-Feb. while the southern
hemisphere has winter in June-Sept. Winter storms bring rain to warmer
southern areas. Low winter temperatures usually occur in the middle of
all continents. As air rises the weather changes. With the cold temperature
the flowers die because they need warm temperatures. Northern and western
areas have a colder winter than others.
In the northern hemisphere, half of the earth has spring
in late March through June. This is when spring weather begins in much
of North America. The hours of daylight increase durning spring.
We experience summer in the northern hemisphere when the
Earth is on that part of its orbit. High summer temperatures are usually
in the middle of the continent. Summer lasts from
December through March. Thunderstorms develop along the northern part of
this warm moist air.
While the northern hemisphere has autumn in Dec.-Nov., the southern hemisphere has autumn in March-June. Some people like to call autumn "fall" because of the falling of the leaves. Leaves change color in the fall because as the temperature drops the leaves lose their power to stay green.
