Do you know how many thunder storms bombard the earth each year? Would
you guess in the thousands? Well, the exact answer is over 16 million!
A total of nearly 2 billions gallons of rainfalls to earth each year, and
it comes from some of the biggest clouds in the sky. If you are interested

An easy way of understanding what a Thunderstorm is, is that it is a storm
with visible lightning and hearable Thunder. More that 16 million thunderstorms
are formed during in average year. In a day 1,800 thunderstorms happen
some place in the world , making 6,000 lightning flashes per minute.
Thunder is caused by lightning. Lightning passes through the air heating
it to a temperature of the sun. The air seperates because of the heat with
an explosive force that makes the tremendous sound we know as thunder.
Thunderstorms are very dangerous not only because there is a good chance
you could be struck by lightning but they often can start strong
tornandoes like in the months April, May and June.
Thunderstorms are formed when damp air, near the earth's surface is heated
by the sun. Like a bubble in water, the air rises until it reaches a layer
of cool, dry air, where the dampness in the air reduces into small, tiny
water droplets that form puffy cumlus clouds.
